Our 6th reunion in Pigeon Forge was a huge success. We had 116 in attendance and a good time was had by all. On Tuesday we gathered for registration in the afternoon and a sit-down dinner that evening. Vinny Hynes and Allan Rodberg were Mc’s and Dolly Parton (in the person of Mrs. Elizabeth Stevens, former Home Economics teacher at Jackson) was featured. We played games, laughed as our classmates (I should say “clowns”) introduced themselves and told what they have been up to these past fifty-five years, and giggled and hugged and talked the evening away. On Wednesday we went to Medcalf Bottoms in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a picnic. Allan Rodberg was in charge and it couldn’t have been nicer — Buddy’s BBQ catered delicious BBQ, we had chairs, tables, a pavilion, plenty of parking and just anything that we needed to make the day truly special. Wednesday night we went as a group to the Magic Beyond Belief show. Gail Gould Purvis was selected from the audience to participate in one of thee magic tricks - she was tremendous! The reunion drew to a close later on Wednesday night as we gathered in the Hospitality Room for our farewells. The cake said it all “See you in 2010″
The golfers stayed Thursday for the tournament at the Gatlinburg Country Club. We had ten golfers.
